Extra Fig Jam contains one of Sicily’s sweetest and most delicate fruits: the fig. This fruit, rich in vitamin B6 and highly energetic, stands out for its sweetness and juiciness. The color of the fig ranges from green, with a soft fruit and thin skin, to purple, which makes the fig particularly delicate and sweet, and finally to black-purple, with dry and sugary pulp. To prepare our Extra Fig Jam, the fruits are processed by hand within a few hours of harvest, as they are very delicate and perishable, following an artisanal process. The figs are cooked in a pot with the addition of sugar. Fresh lemon juice from the Femminello Siracusano variety is then added.
