Ingredients for 4 people:
-
500 g fresh mulberries (black or a mix of black and white)
-
200–250 g sugar
-
500 ml water
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice
-
Fresh cream (optional)
-
2–3 tablespoons of Extra Black Mulberry Jam per person
Preparation:
-
Prepare the syrup:
Place the water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil until the sugar has completely dissolved. Add the lemon juice and let it cool. -
Wash the mulberries:
Wash the fruit thoroughly and remove any small stems. If desired, mix black and white mulberries. -
Blend the mulberries:
Place the mulberries and the cooled syrup in a blender and blend until you obtain a smooth purée. -
Freeze the granita:
Pour the purée into a large, shallow container and place it in the freezer. Stir every 30 minutes with a fork to break up the ice crystals and achieve a smooth, granular texture. This usually takes about 3–4 hours. -
Serve:
Spoon the granita into glasses and add 2–3 tablespoons of Extra Black Mulberry Jam on top of each serving. Gently mix it in or leave it as a topping. If desired, add a little fresh cream.
The granita is ready! It's fresh and sweet, and the jam makes it even more delicious. Give it a try, it's easy to make and everyone will love it.
