Extra Pomegranate Jam is made with one of the most prized autumn fruits from our Sicily. The pomegranate, also known as “melagrana,” has a red or reddish rind that encloses the juicy red arils, the edible part surrounding the seeds. This fruit is considered one of the healthiest in the world, rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, with a characteristic coral-red color. To prepare our extra pomegranate jam, we process the fruits within a few hours of harvest, following a manual and artisanal process. The juice is extracted using a blender, to which sugar, a small amount of pectin, and fresh lemon juice from the Femminello Siracusano variety are added.

   

Excellent enjoyed on toasted bread or paired with a fine Sicilian wine.

Our Sicilian Extra Pomegranate Jam is made with fresh pomegranates and may contain some of the juicy red arils, reflecting the authenticity of the product. The pomegranates come from the lands of Syracuse and are harvested between September and November, when they reach full ripeness, with a slightly tart flavor and a bright red color. Per 100g of product: fruit 71g, total sugars 43g. Production period: September to November. Main ingredients: pomegranate juice, sugar, pectin, Femminello Siracusano lemon juice. Shelf life & storage: 24 months – store in a cool, dry place. After opening, keep refrigerated and consume within 15 days. Excellent for breakfast or snacks, spread on a slice of bread or toast.
